Hi I’m Rex Reilly, the Mojave Ranger School project developer, and I’m actively recruiting for the founding members of the Mojave Ranger School.

What I’m specifically looking for are the staff who will help maintain a safe, immersive training environment for trainees and their families at a tiny, members-only post-apocalyptic renaissance fair where we pay 2 milsim teams to run an ongoing Rangers v. Raiders milsim game as a training platform.

I’m retired on disability, but have also been a red-carded wildland firefighter, EMT, Navy Corpsman, Army National Guard radio operator, etc. with ICS 300/400, the FEMA Professional Development Series, G-191 and hold a current Amateur Extra radio license, GMRS license and FAA drone license.

I already have the property and I already get paid to build the project and I already have books on Amazon.com, so it literally costs me nothing to give 99% of the profits away.

Mojave Ranger School is a 2.5-acre family-friendly, Fallout-themed milsim campground in development in Kern Co, California, about halfway between Las Vegas and Los Angeles, that runs free training and camping weekends for active trainees in the Mojave Rangers milsim game.

The Mojave Rangers milsim game teaches real-world first aid, radio and outdoor skills through a scouting merit badge-compatible remote training system that pays local instructors to develop their own Ranger Training Team.

Help Build It and You Can Have It

The founding members, known as Plank Owners, are the recipients of 99% of the project’s profits. Mojave Ranger School needs 30-50 active weekend participants to operate at full speed and we have 30 million people within a 4-hour drive. We need milsim instructors, medics, radio operators, shopkeepers, campground hosts, managers and, eventually, some sales reps.

If we had a safe place for our trainees and their families to play for the weekend, then we could also easily allow some guests, aka Refugees, to camp in our Bunker B&B or a glamping cabin in Vista de Nada.

Not Building Anything Permanent

None of the cabins, bunkers or shops are meant to be permanent and the goal is to build as much as possible from recycled and salvaged materials. However, it’s also built in the Mojave Desert and has to stand up to the wind and be safe to use.

Like an Old West Fort

Mojave Ranger Station is like an Old West fort. Troop 4 of the Mojave Rangers patrols and defends the area against raider attacks while shopkeepers and station staff maintain operations.

The Village of Vista de Nada allows Mojave Ranger Station to develop its own local economy, and the fort/market village combination has been used throughout human history to provide a secure marketplace for local residents.

Mojave Residents can take the Ranger Basic Course remotely, no matter where they live, and they can also shop remotely at the Vista de Nada General Store.

The Vista de Nada General Store has a variety of airsoft guns and gear and wasteland goods from wasteland artists and vendors.

The General Fund

75% of the net profits from the Vista de Nada General Store, as well as the Amazon and online sales, goes into the General Fund, which pays rank-based stipends and course graduate bonuses for trainees and staff.

Mojave Ranger Station

The Mojave Ranger Station is a few miles east of the desert town of Mojave, California, about 14 miles away from Edwards Air Force Base.

Mojave Ranger Station is developing as a small 100x100ft inner ranger station surrounded by airsoft and training ranges and gardens. The site includes the small market village of Vista de Nada, which has 10x10ft shops, bunkers and glamping cabins, which all have a 10×10 courtyard.

Developing the Station Economy

Mojave Ranger School is a training and publishing company with multiple books already on Amazon.com and available through our in-house general store. A percentage of each sale goes to the General Fund, which pays rank-based stipends for Mojave Ranger School instructors, Settlers, Shopkeepers and campground hosts.

The important thing isn’t the books we already have, it’s the books from wasteland authors that we can publish. We’ll come back to that.

Mojave Ranger School uses the Incident Command System as our training system and business structure. The ICS is used by your local EMS, firefighters, cops and even parts of the city government and local businesses.

The ICS scales from a single Ranger out through a nationwide command based on the availability of trained staff. There are millions of emergency services personnel already trained in the ICS. How many of those are Fallout fans?

Mojave Ranger trainees can join the optional Gun Runners sales team and make a 5-20% commission on sales through the Vista de Nada General Store.

The Gun Runners are the hunters and merchants for the station. Every sale they make feeds back through the entire system by paying out through the ICS. We only expect about 5-10% of the game players to join the Gun Runners.

Remote Training

The Mojave Rangers Basic Course has a training day on the 1st Saturday and a drill day on the last Saturday each month, along with radio and medic training and other topics throughout the month, live-streamed from the Mojave Ranger Station.

The Ranger Basic online course and Field Manual lets trainees progress at their own pace, with a task book system that makes it easy for trainees to get certified by their local instructors.
