The 3rd SOB Merchant’s Guild is the retail development and management arm of 3rd SOB. Like an old west fort, 3rd SOB has ‘military’ cadre as well as ‘civilian’ merchants and settlers.
Remote Economy
Fort Edwards is a remote site in a sparsely-populated desert with very little retail or economic support. Water, food and every item used at the fort is hauled in on supply convoys.
Throughout history the fort/market village combination has provided security as well as commerce for remote areas. The Fort Edwards Post Xchange provides a general store for Mojave Residents as well as an outlet for wasteland artists and vendors.
Fort Edwards has a 100x100ft inner fort surrounded by gardens and training ranges. The rest of the site is used for a small market village and event space for families and guests of the trainees and wasteland refugees and settlers.
Fort Edwards (when operational) runs milsim events every weekend as part of an ongoing desert military campaign to provide security for Mojave residents against the increasing pressure from the raiders and other insurgent groups.
The Fort Edwards Post Xchange (PX)
The Fort Edwards PX is the retail sales arm of 3rd SOB – https://mojaverangerschool.com/px
The Fort Edwards PX carries airsoft guns and gear (with discounts for 3rd SOB milsim teams) NCR flags, patches and accessories and books, media and other arts, crafts and goods from wasteland vendors.
The Fort Edwards PX has an Etsy store (https://mojaverangerschool.com/px/Etsy), Ebay Store (coming soon) and almost a dozen books on Amazon.com.
- Affiliated Clubs make a 5% club commission on products sold through the club links
- War Correspondents and Sales Team members make a 10% commission on every sale made through their link
Joining the Sales Team
Any player who completes the Ranger Basic Course Fort Phase (the first 3 trainings and drills) can apply for the optional Sales Team even if no rank-based positions are available locally. The purpose of the Sales Team is to allow any player with a minimal amount of training to participate in the sales programs and make commissions from helping market the products in the PX.
The more people who market the PX and Amazon links, the more potential sales the business makes and the more money goes into the General Fund, which increases the stipends for the rank-based players also.
Joining the Merchant’s Guild
The Merchant’s Guild are the Wasteland vendors, artists and craftsmen who add their products to the Fort Edwards PX catalog. The product sales are a way to develop some cash flow for the staff who are helping manage the programs as well as pay for real-world expenses like toilets and insurance.
Part of each sale goes into the General Fund and each month our staff get rank-based stipends based on club success, so as the school grows, so will the stipends.
Wasteland vendors whose products are carried through the Fort Edwards PX (www.mojaverangerschool.com/px) get more exposure for their products, directly to their target demographic. Each month the Wasteland News catalog-zine and monthly comic get distributed by our Affiliated Clubs in their local areas. Mobile Training Team will be at flea markets and events in LA and Vegas and game cons and other shows in the central valley around Fresno by summer, 2026.
Guild merchants make a 10% commission from their Guild Link, free Bunker B&B and discounted shop rent at Ft. Edwards.
