The Mojave Followers of the Apocalypse are the civilian and Ranger medical and tech trainers at Fort Edwards. Followers are peaceful (but not pacifists) medical and tech trainers who focus on the non-military skills needed in the Mojave.
Followers manage,
- the gardens at the rear of Fort Edwards and the community gardens in the market village
- classes and demos on edible and medicinal plants and high desert subsistence gardening
- civilian radio nets and classes for Mojave residents
- First Aid classes for troopers and residents
- Wasteland Tech classes
- Power
- Water
- Sanitation
- Food production
- Textiles & fabrics
- Smithing
Settlement Techs
Settlement Techs are the initial Follower trainees. The Follower Basic Course runs concurrent with the Ranger Basic Course with trainees taking many of the same classes together. Followers who want better defensive skills can take the weapons training in the Ranger Basic Course and even earn the Mojave Ranger Tab.
Medical Techs
Follower Medical Techs get the same basic training as Ranger Medics, but Med Techs have lessons on managing civilian 1st Aid Stations and Settlement Clinics. Follower Wilderness Medics can travel with field teams, convoys and caravans.
The Follower EMR (Emergency Medical Responder) gets the same training as a pre-war EMT, but without the procedures and drugs that require State licensing.
RTO & Tech Specialist
The RTO & Tech Specialists manage radio tech and recycling services in the Mojave. Follower Radio-Telephone Operators (RTO) provide civilian radio messaging services and radio training for Mojave residents. Follower RTO’s also manage shortwave and local broadcast radios.
Tech recycling and training is a major hobby in the Mojave. Follower Techs provide basic electronics training and host tech recycling stations where tech trainees and civilian volunteers inspect, disassemble and salvage electronic components and build wind and solar generators, lights and broadcast tech.
Wasteland Tech Classes
Mojave Followers of the Apocalypse are non-military skills trainers who focus on the gardening, textiles and tech that makes life livable. Power generation, water filtration, food production and sanitation provide the basics for human life and are the difference between survival and living.
Textiles & fabrics and various types of smithing add the utilitarian products and tools needed by Mojave residents. Wasteland art and music is promoted through the Merchant’s Guild.
Followers coordinate with Rangers for station security and resupply and travel on Ranger convoys and caravans. Followers can travel and operate with Ranger teams as civilian specialists on a space available basis.
