Not a Full-Time Job

The Mojave Ranger School is being developed as a paid apprenticeship managed through a game that teaches the Incident Command System (ICS) as well as real-world outdoor and milsim skills.

Stipends v Salaries

A salary is the result of trading time for money at a specific, pre-determined rate.

A stipend is a small payment made to a trainee to cover training expenses, tools, gear, transport, etc. A stipend, under IRS rules, may be up to 20% of the regular pay scale for that position.

Mojave Ranger School rank-based stipends are capped at 20% of the US Army pay scale for that position.

Training Programs

Once staffed, Mojave Ranger School programs run every Saturday and are live-streamed from Mojave Ranger Station.

Mojave Ranger School programs run on a yearly schedule but ex-military and emergency services personnel can coordinate task book sign-offs with their instructors in order to get current with training.

Active Rangers

Active Rangers make rank-based stipends and other bonuses, but it’s also not realistic to expect anyone to be there every weekend.

2 Weekends Every 60 Days

The Ranger Basic Course half-day (morning) training & drill days = 1 full training day each month

Ranger Service Days are the other half-day (afternoon) sessions where trainees can do skill checks and run drills with Rangers and Instructors, which = 1 full Service Day each month.

Mojave Ranger School asks for 2 weekends every 60 days to stay current as an active Ranger and rewards those who play more. The ‘1 weekend’ can be split into 4 full days or 8 half-day training sessions.

For examples; an Instructor who can lead a 4-hour training session each week, or an OpFor player who does 2 weekends in a row.

It’s not trading time for money, it’s tracking time with the pay dependent upon the success of the program.

Like a Martial Arts Class

Each trainee has their own story and self-pacing through the system. Some may play frequently while others play remotely and occasionally get to the ranger station.

The field manuals, task books and online courses provide the structure and doctrine, with the trainees providing their own schedules and pacing through the system.

Promoting Your Team Links

Every active Ranger is assigned to a Ranger Training Team; a local club who work together to participate in Mojave Ranger training remotely.

Ranger training clubs have a Team Link which gives the club a 10% group commission on any sales made through the link, which pays for club insurance, local team bonuses and club expenses.

A percentage of every sale from every link goes into the General Fund, which pays the rank-based stipends and bonuses and completes the fort economy cycle of life.

All club members are encouraged to share that link as often as possible, in as many ways as possible.
